Energy management of renewable energy-based microgrid system with HESS for various operation modes

This paper proposes a ramp-rate control approach for grid-connected MG with hybrid energy storage system. Distributed sources (DERs), such as solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind, combined (ES) controllable loads, are critical to power grid that can handle the intermittent nature of renewable sources. Therefore, complexity system is increasing researchers move towards more based grid. An management (EMS) microgrids must consider available in RESs well capacity devices (ESSs). Modern MGs include wide range converters variety applications, including distributed generation interconnection, integration, systems, demand management, among others. So, smooths fluctuations power, which increases reliability. In proposed system, 80 V DC used supply high low loads. The suggested extract maximum amount from RESs, maintain efficient ESS achieves quick DC-link voltage regulation settling time 230 ms throughout all operating modes. These conditions met by gives operational capability ensures its features EMS was validated using MATLAB/Simulink environment, results were obtained Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) experimental test bench. small-scale RES-based be develop algorithms applications.
